ARCHITECTURE

No 240 Canning Highway is a single storey house constructed in brick and rendered brick with a hipped tiled roof. It is an expression of the Federation Bungalow style. It is asymmetrically composed with a full width return broken back roofed verandah. The verandah is supported on masonry piers. A painted brick balustrade spans between the posts. The masonry elements have replaced the original timber detailing. There is a central door and hopper light flanked by sidelights and double hung sash windows. The original walls remain tuck-pointed brick. A broad set of steps lead from the verandah to the front yard. The roofscape features a tall brick chimney.
