Late Victorian / Federation, Cottage W/ Georgian Influences

No 95 and 97 (previously known as No 175) Hubble Street is Duplex constructed in rendered masonry with a hipped corrugated iron roof and a tiled roof verandah. The Duplex’s have been adapted in the Post-World War II era. It is symmetrically planned with a full width skillion roofed verandah supported on concrete columns and masonry pier. The piers are linked by a rendered balustrade wall

Late Victorian / Early Federation Villa w Georgian / Regency Influences Lot 343, Swan Location 71 on plan 1515

No. 97 (previously was no. 187) King street is a single storey cottage constructed in limestone with a hipped ‘M’ format corrugated iron roof. It is a simple expression of the Federation Bungalow style. The front elevation is symmetrically planned with a central door and hopper light flanked by sidelights and pairs of double hung sash windows. The facade features a full width bullnosed verandah supported on turned timber posts with a decorative frieze.

1932 Boy Cyclist Injured... Yesterday afternoon Stanley Birt (spelt Burt) 15, of 187 King-street, East Fremantle, was taken to the Fremantle Hospital in the St. John ambulance suffering from concussion, abrasions and a possible fracture of the thigh. It is not known definitely how he sustained the injuries, but it is thought that his bicycle collided with a pole near the kerb in Adelaide-street. (reference)
