89 Duke Street

89 Duke Street (map)

No 89 - 91 (previously was no. 189 - 191) Duke Street is a duplex constructed in brick with gabled corrugated iron roofs behind a parapet. The parapet wall spans across both residences and steps up to a rounded pediment with a cartouche. It is a fine expression of the Federation Free Classical style applied to a duplex. The front elevation is symmetrically planned and divided by a brick partition wall. The pair has matching bull-nose roof verandahs supported on timber posts with lacework under the verandah beam.
