1940 Unusual Accident. Tins of cream and condensed milk were scattered over the roadway in an unusual accident in Cantonment-street, Fremantle, at about 12.45 p.m. yesterday. A motor truck operated by the Nestle and Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Co. (Aust.), Ltd., was travelling west in Cantonment-street, loaded with tins of cream and condensed milk, over which there was a tarpaulin. Apparently a corner of the tarpaulin became caught in the near rear wheel, pulling the load towards that side of the vehicle. The truck veered towards the side of the road, where it struck an electric light pole, knocking it out of position, and a large part of the load was strewn on the roadway. The driver of the truck was Reginald Edgar, of 147 Petra-street, East Fremantle. (reference)
