Horace Hill Parker was the first Town Clerk of East Fremantle. He was appointed to the position when East Fremantle was declared a municipality in 1897 and he continued in the role for 46 years, until his sudden death in 1944, which almost caused a crisis in a council that was hoping to resume normal peacetime duties.
Mr Parker was born in Aldinga (South Australia) and came to WA during the gold rush when he was 23. His only child, a daughter was Dr Dorothea Parker.
Parker Street is named after him.
Horace Hill Parker lived with his family including his daughter Dorothea Laura Hill Parker at 158 Canning Highway, East Fremantle.
